I have spent the past year or more fighting with all my might to stay afloat, and with that battle came a complete disconnection from God— to the extent that I’ve had many past private conversations that make me sigh so hard now. I was cynical and unkind and all but gave up on Jesus, but thank God he never gave up on me. ❤️Without getting too detailed, I’ll say that in the past month, I was woken up multiple days in a row with a simple question— “Have you decided which lane you want to be in?” I’d blow it off because… sleep. But after it happened over and over, I decided to listen in harder. I saw this picture in my mind of a highway with two exit lanes, one forking off to the left, the other right. And I got it. I’ve been riding in both lanes for a long time, jumping back and forth haphazardly… but now there was no choice but to decide which exit to take. One would be headed wherever I was taking myself (where I could be in control, where I could stay cynical and untrusting and where I could totally fit in with the rest of the world), and the other? Well, let’s just say it’s the route I once loved being on— a highway of hope where I flat out admit I don’t know where it takes me but I at least trust the one giving me the directions. So I’ve put on my blinkers and decided that I don’t want to miss out on any more adventures. I’ve reconnected with my sweet Savior in old ways and new, and at this point NO ONE could tell me this isn’t what I think it is. God has used people to speak to me for weeks now, almost daily. And the funny thing is, I was going to try a new church this morning when I was directed to pivot and go to @redemption_oh. I can’t tell you how hard I laughed when I saw they are going through the book of Acts this whole year. I said out loud, “Of course!! OF COURSE YOU WOULD!” Cause, y’all 4 years ago God kept me in the book of Acts for like 8 months and when I tried to study elsewhere… back to Acts I went. Well, here we go again, eh? 🤣Thanking God for his grace, hope, peace, love, & yes, redemption. 💕(@redemption_oh You’ve gained 4 new members to your church family today, & we couldn’t be happier to join you! Thank you for feeling like home.)

Throwback to Summer… I didn’t do a whole lot o

Throwback to Summer… I didn’t do a whole lot of memory keeping last year, aside from tossing some photos in an old sticky page album or when I actually used my #memoryplanner…. that one time. 🤣 But what I *did* do was print my pics. I just knew I’d use them eventually, and even if they were stuffed in a box, that’s still better to me than them being lost on some ambiguous (i)cloud.So here’s a spread in my #storylinechapters album to document just a few photos/stories that make me happy: The selfie I took after climbing a storm struck tree in my backyard (and then almost falling out and having to call my husband a few acres away to help me down 😂), the time we made vegan ice cream and it matched Nadia’s outfit perfectly, and an old selfie from a few July’s before that always brings me a smile cause it was all Nadia… her heart sunglasses, her putting them on me, and me telling her that’s how I see the world, too. 💕Do you go back in time and work on old layouts you never got around to in that moment? And if so, do you feel like me and end up loving the stories even more after time has passed? Anyone else too lazy to change out their letter boards? 😅 I have one in my kitchen that’s been the same for 3 years. 🤣 But I decided I was gonna try to keep this one updated each month as a sweet reminder of the ways I want to focus my time: Reading what fuels my soul and what makes me happy. Creating in places that keep me motivated and using my gifts to, well, do something else I’m working on. 😉 And praying for what I need and what can be used for God’s purposes in my life.It’s never too early or late to set some goals, and just to be clear…it’s also okay to change them. 🥰#heidiswappletterboard #januarygoals #junkjournalcommunity #memorykeeper #biblejournaling #journalingcommunity
