Yeah, so I have no idea how to actually paint flowers. 😅 But I did this quickly in my sketchbook for fun, and fun it was. 💐

In reference to my previous post- Here's a gift my dad made for me. A portrait of his "home away from home," my A-frame. He said it is meant to be viewed at a distance because of the style in which he used the pastels, but I broke the rules and hung it right above the couch in my Great Room. ❤ And just so you can see how accurate he got it, I'm also including photos from our Cornhole Tournament where we were the champions. 🤣 (Probably because we spent 20 minutes practicing ahead of time and then being overly competitive against my mom and Dana. Ok ok and Nadia, too. Sorry but just because you're 10, it doesn't mean we take it easy on ya. 😉😅🥰)

Everything I know about art is owed to my daddy. Everything I know about words and writing and expressing myself through creativity is because that's a gift he gave me. We've taken music lessons together, performed at my sisters wedding side by side. I've sat with him in booths at art festivals and watched people admire his work right along with me. And as an adult, I no longer take for granted the fact that he has nurtured in me one of the greatest gifts life has to offer.I took my parents to the art museum last month when they visited me, and while I admired the works of some of the greatest artists in history, I couldn't help but think, "I've seen paintings, etchings, and prints just as good as they were being created because I grew up with an art museum in my own basement." Truly.Happy Father's Day to the guy who never leaves his girls feeling anything less than safe, loved, and adored! I'm blessed that God gave me you, and my own girls are just as blessed to have a Pap Pap who loves and nurtures them as if they are his very own. Love you always. ❤

I haven't painted in a really really long time. But this week, I gifted myself a new set of round brushes for watercoloring and got down today with some good old fashioned art therapy. It's obviously not perfect, but that's the point. Neither am I.
