It’s here, it’s here! December! That means it’s time to break out the advent calendar.
This year, I decided to make something new- and man, was it easy!!! I already had this wooden plank that I had used for another project last year, and all I had to do was switch out what was dangling from the nails.
For the countdown, I used a decorative black and white striped paper bag that I strung some yarn through to make it hang. I had some leftover pieces from a page protector that I use in my albums, so I cut it down to a 3×3-ish size so I could stick 2×2 cards inside that will show the date. I stapled it to the bag and decorated around it with some washi tape and other chipboard elements I had in my stash. Inside the envelope, I’ll stick a note to share what our daily activity will be… and maybe even a treat if I’m feeling extra nice. 😉
Activities could include:
– Decorating the Christmas Tree
– Our annual ornament shopping day
– Baking Christmas cookies
– Cinnamon rolls for breakfast
– Driving around to look at our neighborhood Christmas decorations
– Blow-up lawn ornament scavenger hunt
– Handmade gift making day
– Manicure/Pedicure day for us girls!
– Board game/card game night
– Movie & popcorn night
– Make a homemade Christmas ornament together
– Present wrapping night (just for Dana and I!)
– Building a gingerbread house
– Hot Cocoa Bar night
– Writing letters to Santa
– Christmas Eve church service
…. and whatever else I come up with on a whim! 😉
For the rest of the board, I hung some fun things from my stash to the nails as decorations, and I was done with the whole thing in 10 minutes.
That’s it! And now I’m ready to get started on my annual December Daily album! I’ll share the progress throughout the month, but be sure to follow along on Instagram if you don’t already because that’s likely where I’ll post photos of my daily pages!
If you have ideas for activities I can add to my list, would you share them with me? And if you’re also making a December Daily album, let me know how I can see your pages, too! (If you’re publicly sharing them, obviously.) 😉
Happy December, friends! XOXOXO
