A Few of My Favorite Things | Part 1

Today I want to share just a few of my favorite things, just for fun!  But first, I want to start off by saying a very sincere thank you to everyone who has taken the time to follow me on this blogging journey.  Whether you’ve decided to follow along on Instagram or like me on Facebook, or even just have these blog posts emailed straight to your inbox- It all means SO much!  And I thank you!

I encourage you to please feel free to ask me any questions, share anything that’s on your heart, or send me an email so we can connect- I’m not blogging for any other reason than God wants me to.  I have no idea why as of yet- and in all honesty, I may never find out why I’m doing this at all!- but He knows, so I’m just trusting that this isn’t all for nothing.  If even ONE blog post in the course of decades does something that changes a life, then it will all be worth it!  So feel free to email me so we can chat, connect with me on IG, or even shout out some encouragement- Lord knows I need it as much as everyone else!

So here we go!  Here’s just a couple things that make me one happy woman!  🙂

1.  My NLT Bible & Journal

This is my new Bible, so the pages only have a few marks on them as of yet…. One day I’ll show you pictures of my other Bibles.  They look like a coloring book-planner-photo album combo.  Pictures stuck between pages, highlighter and pens marking verses with scribbles of notes on the edges, sticky notes on pages… Yeah, this one will look the same.  Give it time.  😉  And as for my journal, this is just a regular lined-notepaper book filled with the things I jot down daily.

2. Live Life Beautifully journal

This little beauty was created by Gretchen Saffles from Life Lived Beautifully, and it’s a weekly journal that helps me reflect on what God has done in my life, one week at a time.  I can tell she put a lot of thought and love into each and every one of these journals!  It has prompts in the beginning to help you “plan” all the wonderful things you would love to do over the course of the year, but it is undated, so you can begin at any time.  I’m still filling out the “books I want to read” section, so if you’ve got any recommendations for me, shout ’em out, ok?  Here’s to making 2015 a beautiful year.

3. Adorable desk organizer and supplies

I picked up this little organizer at Dollar General for $3, and it’s perfect for my office that I’m currently in the process of redecorating.  Things I love to keep in reaching distance (and also hoard collect): Washi tape, mini clothespins, cute journaling cards (I use these for my Project Life albums and other crafting, but they’re nice to have on hand for some quick homemade cards!), twine… cause it looks cute when I use it to wrap little packages.  😉  To the right is a mini book I created using some journaling cards, too.  I keep things like this in my purse so I can quickly jot down little notes or record thoughts that I don’t want to forget.

4. Books that never get dusty!

All time favorite novels- To Kill A Mockingbird & Little Women.  Sure, I’m a fan of the Harry Potter series, but I gotta be honest- I have a very special place in my heart for these novels even more.  I’d like to think it has to do with me having a great childhood with my sisters.  These two just pull on my heartstrings.  🙂  I’ve read them over and over and still cry each time!

Also- I should mention that the Strong’s Concordance is hands down the greatest Bible Study tool ever.  This comes off my bookshelf on a daily basis!  Our modern translations can unintentionally (or so I hope??) take away from the original writings of our Bible, but having a concordance to take it back to the original language it was written in has so many benefits- I know ahead of time that I’m going to HAVE to write a separate blog post about it, so be on the lookout.  😉

Those old books to the right are a few Reader’s Digest’s from the 1950’s that I picked up at the thrift store.  I go on a hunt for these things!  To read?  Well, no.  I actually gut them and repurpose them into “new” journals that people can actually use.  But, once again, more on that later.  😉

So there it is!  Just a few things that make me happy!  What about you?
