Happy 1st Birthday, Natasha! | Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin decorated Halloween Party

November 7, 2019

Longest blog title ever. 😉 This post is not only to show the adorableness known as Natasha’s birthday party but also to share how I used bits from the Hey Pumpkin collection by Crate Paper to add little details to our Halloween decor. It was just too perfect to pass up! (Especially since we were celebrating my little pumpkin!)

The party was simple, sweet, and not at all scary… unless you count the time my husband took a swing at the pinata and it landed on top of my already-about-to-croak laptop. That was a teeny bit scary. 😉 But alas, both survived…. the pinata only had a minor break, so if you think for a second that I’m not frugal enough to duct tape that sucker and use it again next year then we need to hang out more so you can get to know me on a much deeper level. LOL

As for the decor, I used a mix of the Hey Pumpkin papers and washi tape to cover some fun containers I found at the dollar store, and I also made rosette embellishments to stick in the snacks. The cupcake toppers were just pieces of the ephemera that I washi-taped to toothpicks… all simple to make but super cute!

The “12 Months of Tashie” banner I created to hang on the wall was inspired by something I saw on the Crate Paper blog last month. (Thanks for the idea, Enza!) When the party was over, I simply took the banners off the string and bound it all together with book rings to create a fun little album that I can bring out year after year (assuming it survives little fingers).

The rest of the party photos include cuties in costume, fun with Nadia’s old bowling set [that was uber expensive and hasn’t been used in years but FINALLY got some love], along with wrapping our mummy’s with the cheapest toilet paper ever, singing, dancing, and breaking open the kitty cat pinata I mentioned before. Hope you enjoy seeing these!

Happy 1st birthday, Tash…. Typically your mama would have something more “profound” to say for such an occasion, but alas. You poo’d & have been trying to steal my keyboard for 5 minutes now. Words will have to wait. You know I’m in love with you. 🙂
