If you read my latest post about my goals for 2017, you probably saw that I have plans to document one story each week in a scrapbook layout. The idea behind this is that by the end of 52 weeks, I’ll have one big set of layouts that I can bind into a full size 12×12 book using my bookbinding tool. I really dislike putting my layouts in page protectors because 9 times out of 10 there are pieces of hidden journaling tucked behind photos or interactive pieces that I want the viewer to play around with. And putting them in those pesky plastic sheets ruins the experience. 😉 That, and all the bulky embellishments that I gravitate towards just look better without having a barrier between them.
I get that the page protectors have a purpose… to PROTECT the page just like the name suggests. So perhaps my completed scrapbook won’t hold up as well over time compared to one that’s safely tucked in plastic. But that’s ok with me because I’d much rather enjoy it in its entirety just the way I like it for a little while rather than have it hold up perfectly for decades and never get to see anyone shuffle around all the tags and hidden photos. Do you know what I mean?
Well, week one is complete! I created my page for a Felicity Jane Creative Team project, so the full layout can be seen here on the FJ blog. I used the ever so lovely Sophie kit that just came out this month, and to say that I love it would be an understatement. Just look at the gorgeousness that comes with it!Oh so pretty! Anyways, again, look at the FJ blog to see more of my layout, and if you want to join me on my weekly scrapping journey, use the hashtag #scrapmyweek on Instagram or Facebook cause I’d love to see what your week looked like, too. 😉
