I'm a big vitamin/supplement taker (D3, B12, Iron, Pre+probiotics, St. John's Wort, Ashwagandha, etc.) and have learned through years of trial and error amongst other tests that my body just needs these things regardless of my diet. But I will say this- I eliminated meat, eggs, and dairy cold tofu (see what I did there? 🤣) and the change in my energy levels, digestion, and even mood were almost immediate. Depression? Gone. Anxiety + Panic disorder? Outta here. Thyroid dysfunction, hormone imbalance, PMDD? Glad to see 'em go. It was like the vitamins I was already taking were finally given the chance to do what they were meant to do. After a solid month or 2 of living this vegan life, I now know without a doubt that this is the lifestyle that's right for me. ❤Today I took my supplements as always, but I also got a big whopping dose of Vitamin D from the sun as well. (Yeah, also not the sun avoiding type. The sunspots all over my face give that away. 😅) I swam with my girls and laughed my head off with them, and when we wrapped ourselves up in our towels to dry off (with some natural pineapple coconut popsicles cause #yesplease) I got a little teary eyed. A couple months ago I was in a pit-- sad, exhausted, desperate, and scared I'd never feel good again... but here I am now. Thank you, God. Just thank you. ❤

Me: I'm gonna make a steak. You want one?Husband: A steak or a "steak"?? 😐🙄🤣 Dude went vegan when I did, and he's 100% down with it. But I think he'd prefer if I just called things what they are. So fine...Would you like some cast ironed-cauliflower? 😂😉

If you're not playing with your food, you're doing it wrong. 😉(Inspired by my girls who both said, "Is that a rainbow?" while I was hacking away at our watermelon snack... now it is! I'm sure I could have made this prettier and cut it more smoothly, but get real. If it takes longer than 5 minutes to create, the pic ain't happening. My mama always said, "Good in, good out" and although it was likely said to keep me from watching trash and talking like it, too (cause... moms 🤣) she wasn't wrong. Take note of what you're consuming. If you're bombarded with negative chatter, how can you either tune it out or change the dialogue? What about the words you say to yourself? There are a lot of good thinks to think... choose wisely.😉

Yo. Heard it was #nationalicecreamday and ain't no way I'm missing such a celebration! 🤣 Now, let me just say that I'm a big fan of some of the vegan creams I've found-- @so_delicious Cashew Milk Snickerdoodle ice cream is my current fave!-- but I ate the rest of my stash the other night 😉 and didn't feel like making a stop at the store today.So here is my "compromise." A delicious homemade banana based treat with some yummy vegan vanilla protein powder and natural dye-free food coloring to pretty 'er up. Put it all in my nutribullet blender with a tiny bit of almond extract (cause that's the flavor I was craving today!) and a splash of oat milk, then gave it a good freeze for a few hours. Perfect post dinner #veganicecream treat! Granted, this does better in a bowl cause.... well, it melts quickly! But it looks cuter in a cone and this is IG soooo. 😍 I added a peach slice on top for fun, but the flavors together were delightful, so I'm thinking I'll try a peach cream next time!Swipe to see my firstborn Nadia who came downstairs dressed in the EXACT colors of our dessert without even knowing I had made it earlier in the day! How wild is that? We're always in sync. 😉

Yesterday, my last baby graduated out of her crib.

Yesterday, my last baby graduated out of her crib. And I cried. Hard. It's the last crib I'll ever have in my house, and while capping our kid count at 2 was a decision we made together... I'm still mourning it. I always wanted to be a mama of four. I just didn't anticipate the reality that my body and mind would be depleted halfway through.After we got Natasha's big girl bed together, I left the room and let the tears flow. My husband followed me-- just in case I needed him. I did. He held me in his arms and without even thinking about it, I said, "I'm so sorry for crying about this."I apologized for feeling my feelings.And I do it ALL of the time.Do you?In the words of my man, "Please, please don't apologize for allowing yourself to express how you truly feel. You're allowed to be sad. Believe me, this isn't lost on me either."I have a habit of thinking the only emotion I'm allowed to have-- and show-- is happiness. If you do, too, then take it from me... please, try to let yourself FEEL. There's good stuff there. Don't resist it. Try to remember that crying is 100% okay and necessary. It's hard, but it's healthy. And apologizing for tears is a habit we all need to break.If you were told as a child to "suck it up" when you'd show emotion, I am sorry. Teachers told me that often, too, and not only was it unkind but completely unhelpful... it always backfired. I'd only cry more. I look back on those moments and think, "Good. I'm glad." It's not our fault if people are too uncomfortable with their own feelings that they can't be around someone else's.If you are male and have been programmed to believe that "boys don't cry," leave that to be sung by The Cure and try your best to remember that showing real feelings is not a weakness. Ever.Don't "don't worry, be happy" your way through life, friends. Just feel what you need to feel first. I'm here for it all.❤(P.S. After my big cry, I was able to rejoin my girls, watch the bed become a trampoline as new beds always do, and by nighttime I was happy to have the extra space to snuggle up together for storytime before she peacefully drifted off to dreamland beside me. All is well. All is wonderful.)
