My June Project Life Pages

Hi, friends!  So if you’re an email subscriber or social media follower, you’re getting the first look at my June pages…  Cause, I’m just gonna be real here- my house has been far too loud for me to film a video like I normally do for my YouTube channel.  It’s summer, y’all… there’s no quiet mama-time when school’s out.  😉

Let’s get started:

This beginning spread was fun to make because, well, florals… and you know me and my florals.  😉  I took the top left photo into Photoshop prior to printing so I could type “Hello, June” over the pink bouquet, and I also made a little sequins pocket and even painted the back of a wood veneer to look like a bundle of flowers, too.  (Remember that ice cream spread I made last month to close out May?  Yep, same wood veneer.  It served two purposes!)

… and oh yes, I’ve even been making use of my sewing machine lately.  Nevermind how bunchy the back of this looks.  😉

In these little square pocket pages, I like to stick in photos that are more of my “snapshot” kinds of photos.  I don’t mind when those are printed small because they’re still important to tell the story, but they’re not such great quality that I need them to be larger.

So, have you ever looked at the edge of most paper pads on the side closest to the glue that holds that pad together?  Most of them have a little 1/4 inch piece that doesn’t “belong” to the actual paper that is supposed to be used (if that makes sense)…  I’m talking about the part that you cut off or has the perforation for you to tear the paper out.  Well, sometimes, if you’re lucky, there’s still a usable piece there.  Like this strip from a 12×12 paper that said “Loved you yesterday, love you still, always have and always will.”

I glued that strip to the edge of my page protector, and because I added on an adhesive 4×6 sleeve to the bottom photo to make a flip-out page, I just cut the strip of paper apart at that seam so it could still lift up.  🙂

The next page shows our watermelon growing adventure…. but that’s another story.  😉

And heck yes, I had to document the glorious return of the Stanley Cup to the ‘burgh.  You can take the girl out of Pittsburgh, but you can’t take the Pittsburgh out of the girl.  😉

I even had to make my own card with the Mike Lange quote he said right as the Penguins closed out the series and took hold of the cup.  🙂
June Project Life for web-0840I’ve been having a bit of fun playing with larger layouts this month, too.  If you’ve followed along on my memory keeping journey with me for a while now, you might have noticed that it’s not something I do often.  I tend to keep things small- but I figured, hey, I might as well try…. and what better way to ease into it than with a 9×12 page.  😉  Perhaps soon I’ll make the full upgrade to 12×12!  *gasp!*

My favorite part of this page is the little aluminum foil Stanley Cup I made.

This month, I also started the 21 Day Fix workout program, and it has changed everything for me!  I absolutely love it.

… but yes, it kicked my butt.  😉

I really loved making this larger layout, too!  I think the white paper from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection and the black paper from the Crate Paper Wonder line worked well together.  (I even used the same papers for my Pittsburgh Penguins spread!)  🙂  I love mixing and matching collections like this.

The next spread contains photos from the strawberry picking adventure that I shared in a blog post a few weeks back.

I made this “Fresh Strawberries” overlay in Photoshop, too, and then put it directly on top of the image before printing.

And lastly, I finished out the album with some soft pastels, pretty rainbows, beautiful sunsets, and words to share my thoughts on the great month we had.

I made a little envelope with my We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board and adhered it on top of the page protector.  It has a Velcro closure, and inside is a little memorabilia.

Rainbow!  *swoon*

(Can I tell you a secret?  I have even more photos from June that I didn’t want to add into this book because I found some old Heidi Swapp Memory Files that I thought would work even better for them… so I’m breaking my own rules and going a little out of order by tossing them into another album.  So you’ll see those next time.)

I really enjoyed working in this 9×12 album, but for now I’m going to move on and use up a little more of my stash by creating another fun place to house my memories.  So back on the bookshelf she goes!
