Redemption For All | Garment Collective

Can we talk fashion today?  Actually, it goes waaaay deeper than fashion.  It’s a company called Garment Collective, and it holds a very special place in my heart.

Let me start at the beginning.  And this is essentially a paraphrased version of the message I sent Breena Holt (the owner & founder of Garment Collective) moments after helping fund her Kickstarter campaign.

I was wasting time browsing Pinterest one night looking for things to stick in my new handmade planner prior to the new year.  I do this a lot.  Spend hours in internet-land jumping from pin-to-pin, site-to-site.  The only thing that was different this night was that while I was blog hopping, I realized that all of the lovely ladies I was coming across had a connection in some way- I found out later that they were part of The Influence Network, but that will come later!

I landed on a website called Life Lived Beautifully, and being the analog girl that I am, I was immediately fixated on her lovely journals.  Naturally I ordered one, but then I called it a night.

Next day I got that nudge from God telling me that I wasn’t finished on her website, and I knew I was supposed to go back and look at her blog.  So I did.  I scrolled through it until I came to exactly the parts that He wanted me to see.  How did I know which post?  Well, when I landed on it, the Holy Spirit was stirring in such a tangible way that I felt like my skin was going to burst!  haha!  It was this post.

It caught my eye that Breena lives in the neighboring city near me, but what really drew me in was the way she spoke with such hope, even after losing her precious 4 year old son, Ezekiel.  I watched the video that was created for her Kickstarter campaign with tears just streaming down my face.  In the midst of heartache, God opened doors.  And in those moments, of seeing Him at work in this beautiful family’s life, it was when God prompted me to give.

I watched her Kickstarter campaign reach it’s $20,000 goal before the end date.  I even saw people like Kari Jobe support this wonderful company & rock this shirt.  I watched it go well past the 20G’s needed to start the business, and with each donation that came in, it was like seeing one more woman being set free.  You see, He not only opened the doors for her family, but through them, He also opened doors for many previously enslaved women in Nepal.  They now have jobs and are paid fare wages to make the {beautiful} clothing for her company.  How incredible is that?!

I just got my first tee-shirt from her company, and man oh man am I gonna wear this thing until it’s tattered!!!  (This may or may not be the 3rd day I’ve worn it since Friday, but we won’t talk about that.)  😉  It’s hands down, the best fitting t-shirt that I’ve ever worn.  For starters, it’s really comfortable.  It’s also perfectly feminine-  The sleeves aren’t too baggy, the neckline lays perfectly on your shoulders without being too tight or too loose, and the length is perfect!  At the risk of sounding like Goldilocks over and over, it’s not too long, not too short- it’s just right!  The hem on the bottom is actually rounded just enough that it’s a tad bit longer in the front & back which adds the perfect shape.  It just looks so good!  It’s one of those shirts that can be dressed up with a blazer and necklace or worn stylishly with a pair of yoga pants or jeans.  It’s seriously the most versatile tee I own.  And if that’s not good enough, the message on it is.

I can’t think of anything better than the gift of redemption.  Can you?

By all means, head on over to Garment Collective and start following them on FB, Instagram, & Twitter.  In the coming months, she’ll be adding new designs & also getting another batch of Redemption For All tee shirts in stock.  Also, let’s lift up Breena’s family in our prayers!  (This month marks one year since they lost their sweet Zekey to Batten Disease.)

BEAUTIFUL post! I love what you had to say about God using Breena, her family and Garment Collective to open so many doors. I also live in my tee and can’t wait for more! 😀
