Ask me how homeschooling is going? 🥰Ok, I’ll answer. Awesome. It’s going awesome.On our first day, I asked Natasha if there was anything in particular she wanted to learn this year. Her answer was, “I want to learn the Bible cause it’s interesting.” Geez, twist my arm, kid. 😆 So this week, we started at the very beginning & took our “Genesis 1 Field Trip” to the farm today to explore the beautiful creation of animals, plants, fruits, and… er, apple cider donuts. (You can’t leave this farm without ‘em.)We’ve also played toss the globe and learned the continents, had art class where she’s excited to study Claude Monet & Impressionism for the next month (is this even Kindergarten anymore? 🤣) and she’s learned to read 12 new words. Her math skills are quite impressive and I had to convince her to slow down on the work because she was doing waaaaay more than I planned. So overall… we’re overachieving.And loving it. 😉Just wanted to share some of our adventure today.P.S. This donkey made me realize why it’s also called an “ass.” 🤣

Last night, I posted on my stories that I take time post-worship night to process things I’ve heard & been shown by the Lord. I came with open hands and open ears to worship Him, seek His face, and listen to anything He has for me, even if it’s uncomfortable. Cause sometimes it just is. Before I took communion, I asked Him to reveal anything in me that was offensive to Him or getting in the way of all He has for me. As clear as day, God spoke to my heart that I’ve been “harboring a spirit of bitterness” that I need to hand over and lay down. I don’t always share these moments, but I thought I would for the sake of bonding with my church fam. Sometimes hearing the truth about yourself and your innermost thoughts from the One who knows it all is… well, it’s not fun, is it? But the good news is, once those deep things you may have not even noticed were there are brought to the surface, He wipes them clean. He was absolutely right (of course)… I didn’t realize how much bitterness and resentment I was carrying until then. Today, I feel lighter. I pray that you do, too. 🫶🏻Other thoughts- We at @experienceredemption are blessed with our pastor. I’m generally in my own little bubble with God while we’re singing, but those few times I open my eyes and look around me, when I see @steven_whitlow kneeling in humility, in reverence, in worship to our King, I tear up and thank God for his leadership. I pray for him, Lindsay, and the kids— for their protection and provision as they continue to lead us and speak clear truth to a world where so many don’t want to hear it.Our worship team is phenomenal! That’s it. They’re just amazing, but they are also humble. Thank God for giving them their talents to be used for His glory. What a gift they are to our church fam!Lastly, here’s a prayer I wrote for all of us. This isn’t me necessarily speaking prophetically here, but in the months to come, I sense things picking up speed within our walls. I don’t know what that means exactly, but I pray we will be unified, welcoming to new members of our family, be willing & able to use our individual gifts and our time to serve one another, and that God will use us greatly.❤️

And there you have it. Summer break has officially ended, and Nadia goes back to school tomorrow. 🥹 Natasha and I will slowly be getting into our own routine as we start our first year of homeschool (cannot believe she’s Kindergarten age already)… I’m just feeling all the feels over here.I’m incredibly blessed that Nadia has a school so perfectly designed for her. She’s moved up to the junior high/high school building, and while it will be different and might be more of an adjustment, I know she’s going to thrive there as she has for all these years past.And I’m equally as blessed to be able to provide Natasha with an education at home, the place I know *she* will thrive. As we inch closer to the school year (literally by the hour now), I am absolutely positive this is exactly the path we’re supposed to take. We’re all very excited about it!Wherever your kiddos are headed either tomorrow or in the weeks to come, I pray this school year is full of adventure and growth, positive experiences that grow their strength & character, that they will develop beautiful friendships, stand up for what’s right and true, and that at the end of the day, you will all breathe easy, knowing we’re all doing our best and that each year of getting older is a gift we should not take for granted. So while I sometimes mourn the end of summer, I’m actually left here feeling immense gratitude for each day I’ve gotten to wake up to two beautiful babies of mine that have added a richness to my life that I would never have otherwise. What a joy they are to me. 💕(And yes, we ended the summer making bracelets & eating ice cream. Cause why not?)

Today the girls and I played Nadia’s Epic Advent

Today the girls and I played Nadia’s Epic Adventure— the board game I made her for Christmas two years back. It’s a long one. This game can go on for hours and you won’t even realize it. It’s full of inside family jokes and Nadiaisms, and quite honestly, it probably makes absolutely no sense to anyone but us. 😆 It cost almost nothing to make except the time it took to draw the board, but I can tell you that this is *easily* one of our most valuable possessions.Make the weird family board game.Make it wild and messy and loud.Make it yourself or make it with your kids.It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else…It doesn’t even have to make sense to you. 😉It’s really the memories that matter. ❤️

I bought a new planner for this upcoming homeschoo

I bought a new planner for this upcoming homeschool year and it’s awesome. The only thing is…I’m sorry but I just can’t use things that aren’t aesthetically pleasing to my eye. 😅 I don’t care how great the innards are… if the outside isn’t appealing, I’m out. Goes for a thanksgiving turkey the same way it goes for a planner. 😆This was an easy fix. ❤️
