Got questions? I’ve got answers! Well, some answers. If you’re wanting to ask me something else, please email me: marybeth.hancher@gmail.com and I will get back to you ASAP. š
Could you illustrate my book?
Short answer: Maybe. š
Long answer: I would LOVE to, but first I want to make sure we're a good fit! Things I love to illustrate: Cute families, cats (ha!), whimsical outdoor scenes in happy colors. Things I do not want to illustrate: Anything with a dull color palette, stories that don't align with my Christian values, realistic imagery, etc.
However, something tells me if you're even wanting me to help bring your story to life, we already align in many ways. So go ahead and contact me, and we'll chat! š
Can you design custom logos for my website/business?
Absolutely! I would be honored to create a custom, one-of-a-kind logo for you to brand your business (or heck, even your social media if that's your jam!)... Let's talk!
What are your prices?
Ahh, yes. The money part. As much as I'd love to give away my creative work for free because I LOVE it so much, it still IS work and we all know that's not reasonable for any of us to do. So I'll give you a rough estimate**:
-When creating custom logos, one-off designs, or simple illustrations, I will charge hourly: You can expect to spent anywhere between $100-350, sometimes more, sometimes MUCH less, depending on what you're looking for.
-For children's book illustration or cover design for novels: This can vary greatly in price depending on the length/style of the book. I would have to know more details before giving an estimate, but you can expect to pay somewhere around $150 per page*, and I will charge hourly for the cover.
*Again, this varies depending upon the amount of work required per page. Some pages that include little illustration and more text will be charged accordingly and will be in a very reasonable price range.
**I never want either one of us to feel taken advantage of when it comes to cost/work. In the end, my goal is for both of us to feel like we've gotten exactly what we need so we can maintain a happy friendship. Nothing could ruin a book launch like frustration or an unhealthy author/illustrator relationship, so we will discuss ahead of time pricing, budget, & goals. Book launch time is going to be FUN!
