Woohoo!!! To say I’m excited about the release of this book would be an understatement! Not only is it my first published work, but it is also a story that means so much to me.
One More Day Down shares the story of a sweet military family in the middle of an expected but still difficult separation. Dad is away, once again, and son, Christopher, is struggling to understand why he always has to leave. With the help of his mother (and her trusty Bible), she engages both Christopher and her daughter, Charlotte, in a retelling of the gospel– with the emphasis being on Jesus’ temporary (but still painful) separation from His Father in heaven. The story is both engaging to little ones but also to adults who are either walking this road of military living or have done so before. Everyone who has undergone a deployment or a time when their loved one was away recognizes that comfort from crossing another day off the calendar. But this story is unique in the way that the author offers another kind of comfort, too… the kind that comes from knowing that God uniquely understands all of your feelings completely.
